Why this blog?

Moving to Paris in 2006, spending three years of our lives here, marked a crucial period of transformation for me. 

Before we moved to France, my life had not prepared me for what I would discover here.  For example, good cooking is regarded as a combination of national (or highly competitive provincial) sport and high art.
